Thirty-seven years after the release of GUITARHYTHM, the groundbreaking album that marked Tomoyasu Hotei’s solo debut in 1988, his latest work, GUITARHYTHM VIII, was released this year. The sonic vision created in the studio has continued to evolve throughout the tour, culminating in GUITARHYTHM VIII TOUR “The Final in Budokan” on August 11, where Hotei once again demonstrated that he remains at the very peak of his creative powers.

In 2026, Tomoyasu Hotei will celebrate the 45th anniversary of his career as an artist. To mark the beginning of this milestone year, the special two-day event “HOTEI 45th CELEBRATION GIGS” will be held on January 31 and February 1, 2026, at Keio Arena TOKYO (Musashino Forest Sport Plaza).

The theme of Hotei’s 45th anniversary is “Celebration.” More than simply commemorating a milestone, this anniversary year is dedicated to expressing gratitude and sharing joy with the audiences, friends, collaborators, and everyone who has supported his journey through music.

February 1 also marks Hotei’s birthday, making these two performances especially meaningful. Presented as Day 1 “EVE” and Day 2 “BIRTHDAY,” the concerts will offer fans a unique opportunity to celebrate both the opening of Hotei’s 45th anniversary year and his birthday together.

The announcement of HOTEI 45th CELEBRATION GIGS also marks the beginning of an ambitious series of anniversary projects. Further plans include Hotei’s first large-scale music festival in his hometown of Takasaki, Gunma, as well as a nationwide tour scheduled to begin in autumn 2026.
